FirePhrase is an enjoyable Vocabulary Expansion Program designed to move you through the most common 1,000 words in your target language over a structured 3-month curriculum. This is a systematic program for serious learners who want the most efficient path to an advanced foundation.

How the program is structured

To ensure words move from your flashcards into your active speech, the curriculum is divided into weekly packs:

  • The Weekly Pack: Each pack focuses on 10 high-frequency verbs and 50 essential vocabulary words. All condensed into phrases you can use immediately. These are ordered from easy to hard (listening > reading > speaking)
  • The Stories: Vocabulary isn’t learned in isolation. Every pack is oriented around a 1-3 minute story, allowing you to hear the words in context.

The Speaking Challenge: Each week concludes with an AI-driven speaking challenge to force active production of your new vocabulary.

The Evidence-Based Toolkit

We use specific cognitive science features to ensure your new language ‘sticks’ the first time:

  • Lexical Sentence Mining: You never learn a word in isolation. Instead, we use the innate ability of your brain to internalise language by exposing you to hundreds of phrases.
  • Dual-Coding (Visual Hooks): Every phrase is paired with a specific image to create a mental ‘hook’, which can improve recall by up to 75%. This helps you 'experience' the phrase.
  • Phonetic Decoding: Cards include both Normal Speed audio for natural rhythm and Slow Speed audio to master difficult pronunciations.
  • Just-in-Time AI Tutoring: Stuck on a nuance? Each card includes a prompt to ask an integrated AI tutor questions in your native language.
  • Active Recall (Cloze Deletions): We use ‘fill-in-the-blank’ cards to force your brain to retrieve the word, building the ‘mental muscle’ required for real-time conversation.
  • Long-Form Immersion: Move beyond cards with 1-3 minute ‘Story Packs’ hosted on the web. These stories use the exact vocabulary from your deck to bridge the gap between flashcards and real-world listening
